Can you introduce yourself to our community?
My name is Andrew, I've been in the web 3 universe since 2018. I first started in Gaming projects and now I'm in APhone's Marketing team.
What are you most excited about with APhone?
The 2 most interesting points are:
The fact that APhone is developed in a web3 universe. Unlike web 2 apps where you have to deal with rights issues and certain restrictions depending on the region, with APhone everything will be more fluid for developers
And it's cheap! The classic annual subscription is only 33 dollars / year
What happens when the APhone Annual Pass expires?
Don't let your APhone subscription expire after 1 year. When it expires, your data will be deleted for security purposes. We suggest you renew the device before it expires.
Where will we be able to buy an APhone in the future? Will we be able to download it from the Playstore / Appstore?
APhone is a PWA (Progressive Web App), directly registered on your home screen and presented as an application. We haven't made any public sales yet. We've already sold 125,000 units. It's only available to the Aethir community now. You can get it for free if you're a Noeud holder, or enter the competition we're currently running.
Can the APhone be used anywhere in the world?
Servers have just been added in 2 countries: Japan and the Netherlands. Most of our users reside in the US.
Will there be an APhone device one day?
We don't want to operate in the same way as Solana Saga Chap2, or the Jambo Phone. We feel that people don't need to own another phone to enter the world of Web 3. It's much more convenient if I can do it directly on my iPhone.
If I buy an iPhone, how secure is my data?
A whitepaper will be published soon. Your data is very secure because all the data we store is sliced, encrypted and stored in different server blocks/zones.
Can you explain how the Aethir-APhone partnership came about?
Aethir collects GPUs distributed all over the world. This GPU is used for APhone. We use virtualization and Edge computing to ensure that Aethir's GPUs and our OS are distributed directly to your device.
Can I make a call with an APhone?
Currently not, but we're working with suppliers to see what's the best way to make phone calls.
Will non-technical users be comfortable with an APhone?
Yes, no difference with the phone, except for the configuration. It's like Android or iPhone.
Is there a limit to the number of devices a person can own?
Limit of 30 nft per walllet to match the number of servers we have available at the moment.
What's the $PHONE token for?
The $PHONE token is the APhone governance ecosystem. You'll get 100 keys that can be used to farm safes and earn points. These will be exchanged for a $PHONE and later converted into FIAT. When we want to integrate new Dapps ecosystems, if you own $PHONE you will have the right to vote on these choices.
Besides being able to avoid the Appstore/Playstore and farm several projects on the same OS, what makes APhone unique?
Another major feature: APhone will work in the same way for all users worldwide. If you're in India and can't access Tiktok or Indonesia for Youtube, SuperVPN will take care of it.
What packages does APhone offer?
We have 3 offers:
Free access: 30 min/day: You'll have access to a farming platform that partners with dapps: if you bet $1 on Marinade, for example, you can get 15 minutes of extra use.
Annual pass: at $33/year, you'll have access to 1 hour/day.
The Pro pass: in addition to the advantages of the previous offer, you get a decentralized IP address. If you stuff $GRASS or $AETHIR, for example, or other projects that require a decentralized IP, the Pro pass provides you with one. We thought this was a good opportunity to offer this feature.
In terms of user experience, can the APhone be accessed via the browser? Or on native apps?
Many limitations and restrictions for publishing applications on Appstore/Playstore. So we decided to build our own operating system. So, no, you won't get an app. Either on the browser, or you use the PWA.
Will the APhone be available worldwide?
Yes in all countries.
Are you planning to deliver more powerful APhone models?
As technology improves with the GPU, devices will become faster. By the time they're all equal. On Nokia or 500 android, it's the same Aphone you'll have access to.
