Supply and Distribution of Aethir Edge Devices

There is no set limit on the number of Aethir Edge devices. The sale of these devices is sometimes suspended or closed, but sales will continue as demand increases. The devices are manufactured and shipped from Singapore to global distributors. Although shipping costs are provided directly on the site during purchase, buyers should be aware of possible customs fees in their respective countries. The Edge devices come with a three-year warranty. Users can contact support for any issues.

Availability of Devices and Sales Process

The price of Edge devices will not be reduced except possibly after 2-3 years, when a newer version might be released, and older stock could be sold at a discount.

Device Operation

The use of your device will depend on Aethir's GPU power needs at any given moment. If few machines are connected, each machine will be required to work harder. If your machine's power is not needed, it will enter sleep mode automatically. You can monitor the status of your Aethir Edge via your application. Rewards will be sent to your wallet daily. Devices will not compete for the 23% allocation; each Edge will have tasks to handle due to high demand.

Obtaining an Aethir Edge

You need to be whitelisted, which is reserved for KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders) and Aethir community members. There will also be a small public sale. Node sales will resume next year. It is currently closed, and the last tier was very expensive. Sanjay advises opting for an Aethir Edge instead.

Using Multiple Devices

Users can operate multiple Aethir devices with the same IP address, similar to using multiple Bitcoin miners.

Reward System

Uptime will influence rewards, but a lottery system will ensure fairness when multiple devices are active. Devices that respond quickly to tasks will receive more rewards. Although an Aethir Edge v2 will be more efficient and less power-hungry than a v1, the reward system remains unchanged.

Comparison with Aethir Nodes

Edge devices are standalone units providing computational power, unlike Aethir nodes which act as verifiers/certifiers for GPUs. Edge users do not need Aethir nodes to access 23% of the $ATH token distribution. Nodes and devices operate independently, offering different percentages of token supply access. The token emission related to nodes will be issued over a four-year period, compared to ten years for the Edge.

Choice of Android Operating System

Android was chosen for its open-source nature, allowing easier development and fewer restrictions compared to iOS, which is more closed and requires additional permissions and fees.

Dedicated Use for the Aethir Network

Aethir Edge devices are dedicated to $ATH token mining and cannot be used for other activities such as gaming or mining other cryptocurrencies. Token issuance for Aethir nodes is planned over four years, while for Aethir Edge, it is planned over ten years. Future plans after token issuance are yet to be determined.

Electricity and Internet Requirements

The only requirements to run an Aethir Edge are:

1. A 12V, 4A power supply

2. A minimum internet speed of 20 Mbps for both upload and download. However, to account for any drops in speed, it is better to have a buffer of at least 50% more in both upload and download speeds.

Improved Versions

There are no immediate plans for improved versions, but future technological advancements could lead to new models.

Availability of Devices and Sales Process

A public sale and waitlist process is in place. A $50 deposit is required for the waitlist to prevent bots. This deposit will be applied to the device purchase if the user is selected. If a user does not make a purchase, the $50 deposit can be refunded.

Applications and Use Cases

Edge devices will support applications requiring moderate computing power, such as mobile apps. They are not designed for high-demand tasks like gaming or high-end cloud computing.

TGE and APhone Presentation

No exact date has been provided for the Aethir TGE (Token Generation Event). It will be in either June or July. APhone is the first decentralized cloud smartphone. With the APhone cloud pass, you can download an app on your mobile that opens a new virtual phone that doesn't use your storage or phone attributes. It runs on Aethir GPUs. This pass is valid for one year. APhone has its own farming campaign.
